Just been trying to solve an annoying problem (problem for me that is, in other words one of those '1st world-type' issues
). The problem is that no matter what I do when my phone and my wife's phone are in the car when it starts it is always the wife's that connects. It's mainly frustrating as all the music is on my phone ....
My understanding is that when the HU connects via bluetooth (BT) it starts by trying the 1st in its list then trying each entry in order until it does find a device to connect to. My wife's was 1st on the list.
Now I firstly tried to delete the wife's phone and re-pair it but it still popped up first on the list. I've now tried a complete reset (HU power button + brightness button held in for 30 seconds then when the HU rebooted I went into the Android settings and did a factory reset) and added the 2 phones again, firstly adding mine. The wife's still popped up first on the list ....
Deleted both, added mine and renamed the device name was before the wife's alphabetically. Stiil had the wife's first.
Later Honda HUs have a 'device priority' option which we don't have, which would sort it. So has anyone got a solution? Or even just had the same issue? And yes, the wife could just turn her BT off but that shouldn't need to happen, and it's a pain to do this every time anyway.
Maybe it's the MAC address that determines the place on the list? Or BT version (my phone is less than 12 months old - the wife's is 5 years + so an older BT version. If there's no solution, there's no solution as I know the tech. (if it can be called that!!) in the HU is very old. I've done a reasonable search for solutions but found next to nothing on the old interweb?
Any ideas?
