URGENT PROBLEM!
« on: October 14, 2024, 02:16:53 PM »
Hi.

I got in this morning and the start button was on the dashboard screen. The physical start button was illuminated red. I pressed it and nothing happened. I tried several times... nothing. I got out and locked the car. It locked but the mirrors did not fold in. I got in again and now nothing apears on the dahboard screen, only the red handbrake icon. The actual start button is not illuminated.

I also noticed that when I was in the car and locked it. Pressing the lock button on the fob made a beeping sound come from the rear interior/boot(trunk) space.

Now I drove it yestereday and both battery and petrol with fine, as are both key fobs.

Any ideas?

4 year old battery  - if original.
If you are not doing many  miles and leave it for a long time with short or no journeys only, the 12v battery could be discharged most of the time. Recipe for killing it.

I'm too lazy to walk over to the car and check it out  :D

My theory is you might have unintentionally left the car in "Accessory" mode instead of fully powering it down.
After a certain time the car will automatically shut down as much of the systems as possible but will not power off by itself (thus draining the tiny 12V battery).

The car makes that high pitched beeping volley when you leave the car with the key fob in pocket while it is in any other power condition than OFF.

I only got it a few weeks. I want even aware of the Accessory mode. That could well be the problem! Thanks.
