Honda Recall for steering

I've just seen a Reuters report of Honda doing a recall on 2 million vehicles for a steering issue  on various models. I don't have a link but should be easy to find.
Sounds like the rack friction damper setting and lubrication. I've found this to be the cause of stiff steering on my Yaris (13yrs old admittedly), I added my experience with this into a recent thread on tyres.

Recall was issued by Honda USA so presumably only applies to American built cars. In any case the Jazz/Fit is not involved

I wonder what the US NHTSA would make of the brake simulator if the US still had the Honda Fit

Only because the Honda Jazz GR (or Fit) has never been sold in the US, so there is no recall for models built during the affected period (model years 2022 to 2025).

I wonder, wether the "improperly produced steering gearbox worm wheel" was only used for the american market?

They'd have it sorted long ago. We need the same body here.

I remember with VW diesels, they got that sorted pronto and made VW buy back all the affected cars customers. Here? VW UK recalled to modify the software, which overloaded injectors and egr, and gave a paltry 24 month warranty. Pathetic.

Ok about the Jazz but what about the Civics and others sold here?

That's what you get with our "deregulation", second class citizens with regard to recalls and recourse available of the little man to large corporations... c.f. brake simulator
