Wing Mirror Woes
« on: June 23, 2024, 09:01:43 PM »
Well my nearside wing mirror appears to have decided on a career change and become a sewing machine. A constant clicking and motor whine when the ignition is on, and yet it still folds and adjusts as it should...

A brief look on youtube revealed one video where a guy had the same problem and he mentions the only full fix is a replacement wing mirror (if I understood him correctly)

Is this true or is there another cause of this, like an individual part within the mirror I can source and replace? If not, well, looking for a nearside power folding mirror for a B528M Sirius Blue car haha.

I've pulled the fuse for now but unfortunately this leaves me with no blower motor in the height of summer... yay. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

Hi, I have the same problem on my far side mirror. Eventually I decided to cut both wires, in the mirror, for the folding motor. Not the best idea, but at least it's quiet and I can still adjust the mirror via the buttons in the dash. Had to remove the mirror and open it to get to the wires.
