WhatsApp Carplay issue
« on: June 05, 2024, 07:12:12 PM »
For a few days now, Siri can't read WhatsApp incoming messages or send new messages in CarPlay, telling me "oops something went wrong"
Does anyone have an idea?

pardon my busting into your bubble: Are you actually chatting while driving?!? - I do truly hope to be fortunate enough to never ever have to "meet" you on the road!

Of course, I do not chat by using the keyboard while driving.
Apple Siri was doing this job for me via Carplay thanks to voice commands, but it has not been working properly for a few days.

I think you have touched on an important issue. In the UK using a hand held phone has been illegal for a long time but there is a wider issue of concentration whilst driving. I will answer the phone (hands free) when driving but will avoid having any sort of extended conversation. I am also pretty sure that receiving and responding to Whats App messages even on a voice activated basis, is distracting or indeed interacting with any other social media or email.

Am I old fashioned? Yes - possibly - but I prefer to concentrate when behind the wheel.

A strict rule here: when I drive my phone is OFF. If my wife is in the passenger seat, she can use her phone.
If nothing goes right, go left!

Good policy. I should really turn my phone off as well.

I saw this on another forum. It is the recent WhatsApp update that’s broke something!
