Honda jazz 2007 automatic idle to drive problems
« on: May 22, 2024, 08:41:22 PM »
Hello! I am new here and at my wits end with my lovely Honda Jazz 07 automatic.  :'( when my car is rolling it drives, starts fine. But when I’m idling in traffic or moving from neutral to drive, my rev count goes right down and the car has stalls! I’ve since changed all fluids (correct fluid on engine and auto transmission) changed spark plugs cleaned the coils cleaned the torque valve all with no avail. My car hasn’t stalled since changing these things but my rev count drops then something thuds and it goes massively up like I’m pressing acceleration, when I have my foot on the brake!! I’m at the end of ideas, all mechanics just say it’s bullet proof, which is great but my car is not running right! Please help!!

The forum will help with more info, how many miles since these issues arise?
What happened immediately before this problem?
How long owned last serviced by garage?
Stop spending £ get a local trade block diagnostic check to provide data.

It has done 150,000. I have changed fluids recently but fluids haven’t been changed for a while before that.
Not much really other than hesitant on pulling off, car takes a while before it decides to move.
Diagnostic was done in garage and they couldn’t find anything.

There are two key things to  do (and any competent garage would do them)
Clean EGR valve
Clean MAF/MAP sensor

Neither gives error codes but if dirty will give fuelling issues.

This is basic grade 1 mechanics: your garage are incompetent,

The above are easy to do so cheap.
Then at the mileage the valve clearances may have narrowed so check and adjust,   - can call hesitation at low speeds but no codes.  Takes  time so ££s

Check the PCV valve. Easy.

There is also a tinny noise when accelerating. MAF was checked and EGR was cleaned and checked. Apparently no issues.
What I find hard to come to terms with is, how does none of the mechanics I’ve been to, do not know what the problem is!!! It’s so frustrating! Driving this morning was doing the same thing again! But settled slightly, no doubt I’ll drive home and it will do the same again. All I’m being told is to keep revs up 🫣 I appreciate all your replies so much
