Ok just to conclude on this topic I started, I have decided to get a full size spare and then manufacture some sort of support for the boot floor cover.

A full size spare in the size 185/60/R15 + jack and brace can be obtained for £115 from a place called wheelshop. Then you just need the retaining bolt (also available for £10-13).

I read that 10mm of ply / mdf cut to 800x500 should be enough to support the boot floor, alternatively a large piece of ply + automotive carpet to create a whole new boot floor cover.

In total, for less than £150 should have a full size spare.

It’s quite bulky to courier.

I’m in no rush, see what turns up nearer you, perhaps I could meet you half way if you’re really stuck for one

I don’t come on this site very often so if you are interested, you could email me at gazbev@hotmail.com.

Cheers and good luck,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Just to come back to your post. Looking at the picture you attached, unfortunately, that's already what most people already have in their cars (myself included). That's the foam insert for cars with the tyre repair kit, there is another one designed for the space saver spare wheel which looks different to that one.

Hope that helps.

Ah, I see.

That’s how I ended up with the inserts on the photo.

It took a a long time to find an insert that would support a spare but found one on here after an appeal.

We maybe changing to a later model and if we do illysave the insert and spacesaver.
good luck!
Gary

@jazzyb88 I'm in the same situation - 2018 Jazz with 185/55/R16's and I was looking at a full size spare from Wheelshop.  Did you go ahead and buy from them, and if so does it fit in the void ok?

My other issue is the car came without the wheel security nut key but my local dealer can order that.

Hi there,

I had the best intention to do that but never got around to it. I have tried one of the existing wheels in the boot well and that fitted just fine, so on that basis I am sure what they're selling will also be ok.

As for the bolt, this should do it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275879108766

Just to update my own thread, I finally bought a full size spare as I managed to get an original Honda Jazz one off Facebook marketplace for quite a good price. Seller had bought it new for his previous Jazz to keep as a spare and the alloy itself was unmarked. He also very kindly gave me the wheel retaining nut too.

So today I had a bit of time so created a support for the boot floor out of plywood. It's not perfect because the boot floor is raised slightly and this is because the wheel sits at an angle in the wheel well but it will do for now.
