Is 1.3 IMA a good used buy in principle?
« on: March 08, 2024, 07:34:21 PM »
Never bought a hybrid or electric before and uneasy about battery condition.

What sort of battery degradation should I expect from a 7-10 year old IMA Jazz? Is it basically going to be a petrol engine dragging round a dead battery? Am I potentially signing up for an immediate up front batt replacement cost?

Draw your own conclusion from https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=4978.60. I don't know how much years, rather than miles, affects the battery.

According to the mechanic at the dealership the IMA batteries in the 2009 civic hybrid used to have degradation issues and were therefore replaced. All later models including our jazz have battery packs that are expected to last as long as the rest of the car.

I wouldn't worry about it. But that's just my opinion.
