Hi - new here.

Today was the big day - collecting a brand new Jazz from a Honda dealer in the South East of England.

However, the car is covered in thousands of scratches - it's as if it's been washed with a Brillo pad. The dealer says that all Hondas come like this from the factory.

I've asked Honda UK but they haven't replied.

Can anyone confirm or deny that all black Hondas are covered in scratches from the factory, please?

Thanks

Not fit for purpose as a new car and rejected. Some idiot has polished it with dirty tools?

Rubbish ! My new black jazz was totally blemish free , no swirls or mark . Just the same as every other new Honda in the showroom ( DMKeith) . I cant understand such contempt for a customer spending tens of thousands of pounds to be lied to in such way . That Honda dealer shouldn’t be one !

...Yeah black cars may show some imperfections more clearly than other colours but nothing like you're describing!

I've heard a lot of nonsense today, but this Honda dealer in the South East of England is the absolute winner!
He made my day (clearly not yours)! Only one option: refuse the car

Has to be rejected

They've obviously cleaned off the transport layer with a pad that had grit in it

Honda would never have done that in the factory

Note the VIN no in case they try and repair and fob you off again

What dealer ?
Let's be careful out there !

Tell the dealer you have sent his comments to Honda HQ at Tokyo in Japan

What dealer ?
From the photo that looks like Yeomans in Eastbourne.

Captain Hindsight says never buy a black car 'cos it will look like that pretty quickly anyway.

Yes

My neighbour in London had a black BMW and she looked after it, until she gave it to the Waves hand wash in Tesco car park

They used a plastic squeegee to wipe the water off and scratched it all over

I use a Meguiars water magnet
Let's be careful out there !

In my car, I noticed that after a wax treatment in the car wash and I removed the last drops with a microfiber cloth, imprints of the microfiber cloth appear in the wax layer that resemble scratches. Over time the "scratches" disappeared. Maybe, maybe this is also the case here.
