Congratulations on your new car!

Would you mind telling us sometime in the future what from your point are the main differences between the Jazz and the Yaris Cross? - This might help undecided visitors in their decision.

For me the pro-Jazz-arguments (vs the normal Yaris hybrid) where:
  • bigger boot
  • better visibility (because of the Jazz's split A-columns)
  • my preference of the Honda hybrid system over the Toyota's synergy drive
  • my disliking the "ugly fat arse" of the Yaris
  • slight price advantage of the Jazz over a similarly equipped Yaris (in Switzerland)

The Yaris cross was one of the alternatives I test drove, after moving from Renault. I wasn't too keen on its excessive outside size, and thought the Jazz was bigger inside with a more refined drive.

I can understand that another car might meet your needs better, either for practical reasons  or simply because you prefer the style etc. I wish you well

I very much like my Jazz.  But when the time comes to replace it I will also consider other alternatives now on the market that might suit me better ,and may have improved on the technology.  (no going back from there )  .     I might say "moved on" but I wouldnt say "Finally got rid of the Jazz".

I agree with his Lordship. My first thought when I saw the headline was ' Hmmm, wonder why he hates his Jazz so much?'

See his thread 'The Jazz will have to go', from about 6 months back. Explains it all I think.

Not tried the Yaris Cross yet, it's on my list as a possible downsize from my RAV4. I think it might be a little bit higher than the Crosstar but that is just a guess.

Seriously considered a Yaris Hybrid before I got the Jazz not least because the Toyota Dealership is literally 200 yards from my house. Didn't get as far as test driving one but the inner space of the Jazz was the clincher for me. I don't think you can go far wrong with either brand to be fair.

I test drove both the Yaris and the Jazz, the Jazz is the better vehicle,  loads of storage space, nicer display and the drive train I like better. The Jazz costs a bit more but I think it's worth it. The Jazz looks better and happier  :D The Yaris has far more reports of a flat 12v battery. :(  The Jazz is the best small car by Which and What Car mag.

I looked at a Yaris, but it felt so cramped compared with the Jazz  there was no contest, despite the Toyota dealer being much nearer.    TBH I didnt look closely at the Yaris cross  .I didnt think I needed it,  and the extra cost put me off. The TV adverts of a stylish young woman driving one didnt appeal to my lifestyle.  (stylish young women will have to accept me as I am  ;D )

But having taken the plunge into the budget sector of the smaller versions   I'm impressed enough that I might now  be prepared to extend my budget to include some slightly  larger alternatives.  If a few extra millmeters here and there justify the cost.       Ski ing  - spending the kids inheritance  :P

That was the main thing that put me off plus a less refined drive, but was looking because of Toyota reliability.
