Fuel consumption indication l/100 km
« on: August 23, 2023, 09:23:47 PM »
HI,
trivial question (maybe),
but is the consumption (l/100 km) that I see on the dashboard instantaneous consumption or is it the average I'm making with the petrol I have in the tank?
Let me explain better, if I go to the panel where the radio or the navigator is I can see the last 3 consumptions made (i.e. from when I turn on the car to when I turn it off), but if I wanted to see the total consumption I had on a full petrol how do I do?
The indication I have on the dashboard is the consumption of the entire tank regardless of how many times I turn the car on and off?
I hope I was able to explain myself.
Thanks for the replies.
(Sorry for the mistakes I used Google Translate)

The radio/navigation unit shows current, A or B. It depends on your settings.
Current is the drive you are doing at the moment and the averages you got during that drive.
A shows the current and last 3 tanks/fill-ups.
B shows the current and last 3 trips.

To remember as a sort of trick: if consumption is shown as well as distance, this is the average consumption over that distance.

Hi, thanks for the info,
but instead what does the consumption that appears in the dashboard indicate?
Is it instantaneous consumption or does it take into account all the petrol in the tank consumed to indicate how much consumption is?

There is a bar shown (from 0 to 20 l/100km or from 0 to 100 mpg); this is instant. When in EV you see it going to infinite mpg.
Also you can show A and B, with just a number, this is similar as on the radio unit.

So there is no general indicator,
which indicates the average you got with a full tank of fuel?

Yes, it’s A, both on radio and behind the wheel.

HI,
there is probably an error in the translation or in my machine the commands you say are not present,
on the radio / navigator I have the two calls A and B,
but they do exactly the same things, i.e. they say the current consumption and the consumption with the two previous ignitions (but there is no total consumption).
In the dashboard I always have A and B which indicate the kilometers traveled (these are the partials that can be reset),
I have that bar that goes from 0 to 20 (which I honestly have no idea what it's for) and then I have a l/100km indication (example 5l/100km).
Is the indication l/100km (for example 5l/100 km) the total consumption (ie of all the petrol I have in the tank) or is it an indication of current consumption?

Maybe you have them both at their default settings of "manual reset".

Please have a look at the systems settings because you can both A and B configure individally.
I have set A to "reset when fully refueled"

Assuming you have a pre-facelift Jazz this is the italian manual (direct link to pdf)

The information is on p158

There are 3 settings. When fully refuelled/When ignition is turned off/Manual reset.  If you select Manual Reset and leave it unchanged, it simply accumulates the average consumption.  Mine, on trip B, currently gives me my l/100km for the last 24,000 km.  (3.9l/100km - though, as I'm in the UK, I have it set to MPG.)  My trip A is set for fully refuelled.  With these settings I get the consumption A - since last refuelling, B - consumption over the last 15,000 or so miles and I can scroll through from A to B using the little wheel on the left-hand side of the steering wheel.

It may be that Wonder has A and B set to measure the same thing.  What I don't remember, though, is whether the default setting is for the full tank or ignition off.
