Rear Wheel arch corrosion
« on: August 10, 2023, 05:11:27 PM »
I've got a 2006 Honda Jazz with the usual amount of corrosion expected for a 15+ year old vehicle.

The rear wheel arches have corrosion around the edge, but also on the inside of the arch. There is a hole corroded into the inside of the sill at the front bottom of both arches. The plastic flap at the bottom looks like it's falling off as the mounting it fixes into seems to have rusted away.

I'm assuming it's an mot fail as corrosion near suspension mounting., just wanted to confirm if this is the case?

Planning on selling the car soon, is it worth getting this repaired?

I was quoted about £1,100 for welding, in December, when my 2006 Jazz failed its MOT. I passed it on to the trader who sold me my Fabia. The car was subsequently repaired and is now back on the road. If you can get the welding done cheaply enough it is worth doing. The problem is, most garages don't do welding (not like the old days when every garage had someone who could weld) as with modern cars there is little call for it.
