There are a few odd things happening in my expereince f- rom time to time. To be fair to all car makers, i doubt if they can account for every eventuality in the software programming. My expereince of about 50K in 2 MK4's is that i think the behaviour of the ADAS systems are generally good, better with the 2025 than the 2021 however. As i use the systems a lot, even on A roads at low to fast speeds, im a fan, but i keep my thumb near the cancel button when on radar cruise, just in case. I do get use to overridding manually from time to time, and its sort of second nature now.
Count yourself lucky - before the Crosstar, i had a Golf MK 8 - that was just plain dangerous. The most worrying: it used to sometimes flip flop between identifying my car as a right hand drive or a left hand drive!! Seriously. The software did not allow you to undertake on a dual c or motorway. This meant that it wouldnt allow you to overtake normally when the cruise was engaged...absolutely infuriating - But the absolute worst was when the entire system decided to crash in the middle of the Dartford tunnel, and give a loud siren warning that the engine was about to fail. Scared the @@@@ out of me. Then issue cleared itself a minute later. No VW's for me again.
Honda is a benign pussycat compared to this!
