Yes, the GPS is more accurate than the speed from the OBD2. There is a model that uses an OBD2 connection as well but it is to display water temperature, revs and the like but my ScanGauge does all that. In fact, the ScanGauge has a means of correcting the OBD2 speed to match the GPS!

I bought one and then a couple of weeks later was given one. It looks pricey but the information it gives to fuel use has paid for itself several times over.
It displays a range of functions (only two at once), including voltage, water temperature, inlet air temperature, ignition timing, and reads and resets OBD2 codes.

If you don’t want to spend £100, try this copy version from AliExpress, it’s has identical functions AFAIK to the ‘real’ version. I had one in a previous car & it worked fine but stupidly forgot to remove it before I sold it.

The ScanGauge gives Miles till tank empty, Current Journey, Current Day, This Tank etc. It also gives a load of data, some of which I used to collect after a good journey:

Max speed: 60 mph
Average speed: 35 mph
