Sitting at traffic lights about a mile from a cold start. About 10c . Climate control off . Engine off in EV mode . 4 bars on the hv battery.  When I switched on Climate control - set to 19c- the ICE engine immediately started.  So heat is going to cost you in fuel consumption .  At least until the  engine has warmed up and has it to spare.  .

I tried it twice, same result. And a third time  just a few seconds later  (its a new toy!) This time the engine did not  start.
Did it reach some kind of threshold. Was it now satisfied the engine was warm enough after 1 mile to provide heat without the engine running.  Or was it that HV battery now had enough charge to run the climate control without engine charging assistance?
My IQ test came back negative
