I bought a Halfords 'universal' one. It is quite big, and very awkward to position inside the car. However, fitting to the outside works a treat. There are suckers at either end, and these wrap the sunshield around the screen and fix to the driver/passenger side windows.
Yes I know, not ideal regarding some scallywag pinching it, but all depends where and when you use it I suppose. As a frequent nature reserve visitor, I feel confident in using at... but anywhere else and I just force it in the inside haphazardly.

Car manufacturers have definitely lost a trick here.

Why dont new  cars come with a purpose made ,tailored ,sunshade  as part of its original equipment? They could have a special storage compartment/slot and small discrete mounting clips already installed to allow rapid fitment/removal.

They would not add much to  cost and give an opportunity for their logo to be widely displayed as windscreen sized bill boards. (Hopefully in  subdued and tasteful way) . And would have good  eco benefits  in reducing energy required to cool the car down .
Owners of 'lesser' cars returning to a baking hot car and fumbling with inadequate, makeshift ,shades will be envious.

Or available as a retro fit from dealerships, at reasonable cost.

We don't need a sunshade like that. Our Jazz has a standard feature that replaces that awkward, bulky sheet: the key fob.

When the car is parked in the sun, we stay in the shade a short distance away, press the unlock button briefly, and then immediately press it again—but this time holding it down until all the windows are fully open.
Then we wait—still in the shade—for more or less the amount of time it takes you to remove that big sheet, fold it up neatly, and stow it away (sweating in the blazing sun).
By the time you’re ready to get into that (cool...?) car, we calmly walk over to our Jazz—that has been nicely ventilated and cooled down—get in, airco on low, fan on max and drive off.

P.S. One trick we do use to keep the seats from getting hot in the sun: draping a jacket (with a hood) over the seat: the hood goes over the headrest, while the jacket covers the backrest and the seat itself.

In northern latitudes they can supply a warm blanket with Honda logo  instead  ;D
Or an ice scraper in the petrol flap like vag.

I agree that for 'northerners',  key fob tactics and efficient air con may suffice.  But  does nothing to prevent potential damage to interior trim etc if your car must be regularly parked baking in  full sun.   .  8)

Well here I have an Elegance (no keyless features and no automatic folding for side mirrors, only manually using the button) and no window tint.

But for the rear windows I'll add "3M IR ceramic 15%" tint, that should help a lot. To be honest the sun also deteriorates the interiors so it's not just a comfort problem.

With the sunshade I posted above I'm quite well. I'm applying it in 10~ seconds.

Some days I get into the car in the afternoon and the outside temp shows 30C+

We have been living in Toruń for over 20 years; (the city where Copernicus was born). Our Jazz normally rests in a (cool) garage beneath our apartment.  ;)
