What Tyres
« on: August 03, 2021, 03:12:58 PM »
Hi i was wondering what tyres are fitted on people's Honda Jazz and what they think of them. My car is a Mk 4  EX and came with Yokohama blue earth A.  I have only done 1300 miles but they seem ok. I dont know how they will wear or what they will be like in bad weather.

Think a lot of people go for the blue earth or a Michelin type, I have Toyo proxes on mine which are quite good and reasonably priced, even though I have a mk2 Si with daft wheel size.

Same here.
What strikes me most about these tyres is that they are very quiet.
Grip seems quite good, both in the dry and the wet. But I suspect the excellent chassis and the Agile Handle Assist (what’s in a name…) play their part in that respect.
I’ve been driving the Jazz since March (just over 4000 km now), mostly commuting and no furious driving, so I must confess I haven’t tested the tyres to the limit  ;).

We ordered our Jazz EX yesterday. The tire on which the car comes as standard is also the Yokohama BlueEarth A here in Poland.
Since we no longer want to switch between summer and winter tires twice a year, our Jazz will be equipped with Vredestein Quatrac all season tires at our request.

Yes, I've done around 2800 miles with my Mk4 Ex, a bit early to determine tyre life yet, but in my opinion the Yokohama Bluearth supplied, are much better (quieter and seem to hold the road well) than the Dunlop 2030s fitted to my previous Jazz cars.

I run my Mk1 on Bluearth 4S and they grip like toffee to a blanket.

Goodyear Efficientgrip tyres are a good choice for the  for the Jazz,  scoring very good ratings on the EU tyre performance regulations, they are keenly priced and stocked by many tyre outlets

My Crosstar has Dunlop Enasave (as I believe all Crosstars do). I am still under 1000 miles so too early yet to form any judgment. As they don’t appear to be available from tyre dealers in the U.K. I anticipate any replacement will be a different brand of tyre.

And I wish they were available to fit the Crosstar. Very narrow choice of tyres for the Crosstar and virtually none from major European brands. Tempted to 195x55 R16 as that size retains rolling circumference but would invalidate warranty and probably increase road noise and detract from ride comfort. Only real option is Falken all weather tyres for year round use.

Don’t really understand why the Crosstar tyres should be any different to the Jazz EX.
It’s only a Jazz with a few bits of plastic added, plus roof rails ;D

Don't forget the huge 30mm height difference.... ;)

30mm might not be much to many people but to my wife with a back problem it’s the difference between easily getting in/out of the car and struggling. She seems to have a critical crossover point when ease becomes a problem, that’s why it will have to be a Crosstar rather than a Jazz - but is also the reason we are holding off a final decision until we can try the new HR-V when it’s launched towards the end of the year.

Accept the 30mm height difference, but I don’t believe the tyres contribute much to that difference, the rolling radius is much the same.
