My Honda first MOT

Technically not the fist one really but first one since I got it :)
Are those good numbers? I wonder how it compares with other 1.4 EX models.

Good numbers? It's barely registering any emissions, and lambda at 1.0  - it doesn't get any better.

Are you sure he had the engine running?  ;D

Hahaha, I hope so!
On the other hand I spent this summer maintaining the hell out of it and pouring weird things into the tank ;D
But I don't know how other Jazzes compare, no baseline so to speak. Do you know what numbers expected on average from car like this with circa 80k miles on it?

Don't get too hung up about it, emissions results can be affected by the engine temperature, how long it's been warm, how many long or short runs it's done recently, time of day, how long since last oil change, etc..

You have 0.01% CO and 0ppm HC at fast idle, and 0% CO at natural idle - to all intents, zero - that really is excellent.

I just fished out other half's MOT, corresponding figures were 0% CO and 6ppm at fast idle and 0.04% CO at natural idle - also very low, and in the same ballpark as yours, but it was first thing in the morning. That's a 2015 with about 60K on it.

You can see that the limits are 0.2%, 200ppm and 0.3% respectively - the lower the figures, the better. These engines are generally very clean, it's not uncommon to see a comment on the MOTs of these that the emissions were too low to measure.

edit: Just checked MOT for daughter's 2008, even that's showing 0% CO on both idles, but a bit of hydrocarbons - probably oil passing the rings, but it has done over 170,000 miles.

Right, so as I expected these generally have very low emissions :)
In my case the car was run for 10 mins on that day (it snowed) on the way to the testing centre but by the time I arrived the engine temperature light has gone off so it must have been sufficiently warmed up before the test.
Thanks for the insight, once again super happy I invested in Honda Jazz!!!

Yep, all these figures are within the margin of error.

The emissions on these engines are so low, they barely register if they are running correctly.
