Key fob

I found it took 4 presses of the fob today to unlock my Jazz.

Thinking that the battery was in need of changing, I tried prising the fob apart.

It didn't really want to co-operate but I persisted to the point where only that part of the fob in contact with the blade of the key would not separate, and then "mechanical sympathy" made me feel I should pause there

The two halves of the fob appear to have been glued together.

Before I apply more strength to force the fob fully apart, I'd like to ask whether anyone else has been in this position?

Flip type key? Did you remove the screw?

The screw referred to is very small and is often very difficult to remove. A watchmakers type screwdriver will not give you enough grip to remove the screw, note the type used in the video. If the screwdriver is not a good fit you may damage the head and then it may have to be drilled out When this happens is when you may find that a previous attempt to remove the screw has ruined it and to put the to halves together glue has been used, which may be the problem in your case. Cobblers like Timpsons do a battery change service and have all the right tools.
