Which gearbox
« on: August 29, 2020, 01:19:59 PM »
hi,
Does anyone know how to id cvt gearbox? I can't see any labels, there is one on ebay from a 2011 cvt but the checker says that it doesn't fit my 2011 cvt? The checker  doesn't  ask if my car is automatic so may think it's  a manual. Anyone know  what the model number is?

IIRC, there should be a sticker on the front with the gearbox type and serial number.

I think SE5A is the one you want. Not 100%, but I think SE7 is for the hybrid.

2011 could still be a hybrid.

As I say, not 100% sure, but I thought the non-hybrid was SE5A.

Neither honda customer service or their recommended garage can tell me which gearbox is in my car! Honda have definitely dropped in my estimation. Car goes to an auto transmission specialist  next week, wish me luck,

Hi,
Enquired about cvt box from a 2011 1.4 jazz at a car breakers ( charles trent ltd) . They say not compatible  different engine code and vin numbers start differently,  really confused now, going to the specialist next week then what,

That's odd, you would think you would have a chance if it's come off a petrol CVT.

Another odd thing, when you look at parts-honda.uk parts catalogue for 2011 year, it only lists manual and I-Shift gearbox. You have to look at 2012 model for the CVT to appear as an option. Connected?

I spotted that too. CVT's from 2011 must be considered Model year 2012. Same as the last of the Mk 3's from 2019 are called 2020 models.

Last GK Jazzes are MY2020 as defined by the manufacturer. I just happen to be at the dealer and had a look at the VIN of a GK3 Jazz. Model year digit L as for MY2020. I assume first GR Jazzes have the year digit M for MY2021.
