Cvt fault
« on: August 19, 2020, 10:48:04 AM »
hi, took the jazz in for aircon service which has improved things considerably  but they commented on the gearbox noise. It's  a cvt and it sounds like a bearing going, only noisy at low speeds, crawling in traffic or pulling away. My thoughts are the torque converter but they say it hasn't  got one, I thought the 2011 started fitting them. Garage says they need the car for a week and the potential bill is £1000. Car is only worth £2000 but everything else is fine and there is no way a garage will take it in trade in, looks like I will have to smile and pay,

After the I Shift was dumped in 2011, I thought all CVTs had a torque convertor.

The torque converter was introduced for the early 2011 facelift when the CVT was reintroduced replacing the unloved ishift.

Hi
Having googled it honda gave extended warranties on the system, 9 years old with full honda service history wish me luck, to me it sounds like the torque converter bearings,

Speak to a Transmission Specialist. I had an issue with my 2006 manual and the garage quoted £1200. I searched local transmission specialists and had it repaired for £324.

All the Gen 2 with CVT's had torque converters not clutches.
What mileage does yours have and when last did you replace the CVT fluid?
