New owner - first Honda.
« on: October 09, 2019, 02:53:44 PM »
Hello to all in ClubJazz,

I just recently bought a 95 plate Jazz. I was looking for a car that had room to put my bike(s) in, plus extra kit etc. for trips away in the UK. The first car lot I went to I walked straight past the little Honda without even noticing it, to look at bigger vehicles. Non of them appealed, as none utilised cabin space that well. As I was leaving, I noticed the Jazz, and out of curiosity I looked inside and folded the rear seats down to see how much space there was …..impressive for such a small car!! The dealer then showed me how the rear seat bases fold up, further utilising the rear foot-well space, –very innovative and neat –converts in seconds. I took the car for a test drive, -it drove like a new car, smooth engine with good pick up, slick gearbox, positive road-holding, nice interior, with well laid out dash with simple to use controls, -and not a single annoying interior rattle. Everything worked! The car has 79,000mls on it ….amazing!
Buying this car cost me much less that I intended to initially spend on a bigger, less practical vehicle.
The Jazz seems very economical on fuel, and the road tax is much cheaper than my previous car.
My bike(s) fit in with minimal dismantling (front wheel removal only), either in the rear, or behind the front seats –so convenient. I have attached some pics to show how neat it fits with room to spare.
A friend of mine, who is a car mechanic, put the car on his lift and checked it over. He said it was in excellent condition for a car that is 14yrs old. He also said every customer of his, bar none, who has a Jazz, speaks very highly of them.
I only came across this car by coincidence and chance, I’m pleased I did.

Thanks,  Simon.

Looks like a sound car. The roominess of the Jazz is legendary.

Jazz is a great little car. I too am enjoying the delights of the Jazz for the first time, and like you, it wasn't my first thought for a car. But now, 30,000 miles and 3 and a bit years later, I am sold on it.

A lot of people do not realise how much space available inside a Jazz, and how easy it is to fold seats up and down - and the MK1 ( 2002 to 2008 ) was even bigger inside.....

They are very cleverly packaged vehicles - but some people can not get past the ' pensioner ' label...
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

When I had my jazz I took great delight when people noticed how easily my bike fitted in the back. I did mount a fork attachment on a board to secure the bike a bit more--didn't want it hitting me round the head when I braked !
There aren't many cars with the load capability of a Jazz, although I now have a Civic, and the bike still fits the same way .
Enjoy your Jazz, and try not to look down on other car owners who can't even get a bike in the back ! :)

Thanks all for the replies, it's re-assuring to hear good comments.
I also have to say that this car has got me actually enjoying driving again, -it feels like getting my first car all over again!
Thanks,  Simon.
