Remote central locking?
« on: July 12, 2019, 12:26:34 AM »
Hi guys.
I bought my jazz over 2 years again and it only came with one key. I have electric front and rear windows,  electric sunroof. Not sure what model this is as I don't have alloys. I'm unsure if I have remote central locking? Is there anyway I can tell before I buy a fob online.

Thanks for reading

Is the situation that the one key you have does not have lock/unlock buttons on it, so you think you might have a replacement key, but the car itself might have remote central locking?

If that is the case I think you will have to go to specialist place to get replacement keys. Not sure how you would programme a fob bought on line.

It should tell you what model on your logbook, or look the registration up on the Cazana.

If it does have RL, you can programme the remote locking part of the key to the car using a rather convoluted procedure in the workshop manual, but the immobiliser chip in the key has to be done using Honda HDS diagnostic system, or one of the specialist systems used by auto locksmiths.

Thatís exactly what I believe. Was hoping I could just programme a fob and use it. Not a biggy if I canít.

You can program the remote part into the car yourself, but the key transponder has to be programmed into the immobiliser with specialist equipment to start the car, and cut to match your other key of course.

This assumes that you car does indeed have remote locking. Some models did not have remote locking, but there is an excellent thread somewhere on here about adding a cheap aftermarket kit.
