Final question for moment-do all models of 2010 Honda Jazz i vtec Si 5 dr have front fog lights? This vehicle doesn't and wondering if this is a clue as to where damage may have occured!

pretty sure Si spec includes fog lights as standard in the deeper than normal front bumper
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Thank you, culzean. It was not advertised with fog lights nor cruise control and only model I can find on websites, such as parkers which lists all spec for all models.

In fact, TY for reminding me, as this does not tome with cruise control, are you aware if this can be retro added?

(I know cruise control can be added to cars as old as 2003, my 03 corsa c for example, which nedds tinkering with
opcom and new stalk. I was thinking this should be easier to add to 2010 honda jazz Si).

More than likely that will becoming a new fully fledged member of car site/forum. Least it is somewhere I can come to ask questions, advice, unknown tricks of honda jazz...rant, rave and complain! :-)

Am now replying to my own last post! No, is the answer not all 2010 Si models came with fog lights or cruise control, this could be Si T version.

Still interested in adding cruise though!

Hi Peeps, just as a last note on this, as seller said, put car through new MOT for us. Came back pass and no advisories. Seems the advisories from September, 2015 have been attended to.

Collect car tomorrow-in time for long  weekend-insurance will be dealt with tomorrow morning and tax in the afternoon. Then time for play :-)

May come back next week and let you know how it goes.

Many thanks for all comments, concerns and advice.

Have a great long weekend.

Morning Gary, Many thanks for your comment. If it was being sold by personal from car park, wouldn't look twice' A further reason that gives me more confidence than otherwise maybe, is the fact we live opposite the trader who specialises in other high end vehicles and the person selling is a partner.

We see them regular from our lounge window and have had reasons to message them when we have noticed funny goings on once they have closed, such as youths milling around their compound and when cars have had lights left on for foear of draining battery-just being decent neighbours! It is though these actions that they have come to know us and the reviews on thier business in general.

So we collect/hand over cars this afternoon, just need to pay for insurance (which is an additional £100 for the year f/c on top of next year renewal price) and see how we go!

Guarantee, any problems, will be back here for advice :-)

Have a great weekend.

Hi Garyman & others, TY for asking Gman. Car is doing fine...actually, bette than fine...am still smiling every time I drive, clean etc. :-)

To date have only had car now just over a week, so journeys daily basis are literally just day shopping to 2 x local supermarkets-very short trips. Have done 3 average, longer trips and agin no problems arisen. Lengthiest trip to date was yesterday, 70 mile round trip, including approx 50 mile total on motorway. Handling, steering, acceleration, braking, instruments (incuding those on onboard comp) all fine.

When driving within 30 mph limits it amazes me how the car can manage between 25 - 30 mph in 5th gear, as indicated by economy drive indicator (green arrows that tell you to shift up/down). Again at motorway speed 65-70 mph, also impressed at level of revs needed, compared to last car especially bearing in mind this car only has added 130cc more than corsa c (eg 70mph in corsa c=4000rpm to 70 mph in honda jazz=3100/3200 rpm)-Hope these figures accord with other members.

We are having long weekend away which will give better indication-just over 200 mile journey to destination and obviously same on return, so will see how these go and also how I feel after such lengthy journeys, due to seats being much more supportive to. (Although have never had/never needed before with either of previous 2 cars, have joined Autonational rescue (full package) to be on the safe side...and cos of missus!).

So hopefully, next time you hear from me will be 1 day next week, still smiling. Have a good weekend Garyman, and again TY for asking.

Well, said would return and update after long weekend and circa 500 miles travelled-albeit 400 miles m/way travel and A roads...and still smiling and grinning and no need for any calls (breakdown/recovery) to be made.

Biggest impact is the seats and how supportive they are. No doubt helps by the major amount of adjustments in seat height together with steering wheel rake and telescopic adjustment possibilities. Also firmness of the seats on their own massive plus.

Kept an eye on the 'instant mpg' meter/graph and kept switching between this and 'average mpg' urging for this number tog et ever higher and made note-on journey up managed to average 55.2 mpg and on return journey just hit 56.4, ending with 56.2 mpg. Have read 8 page post on mpg subject and would ask for comments on what I am currently achieving (bearing in mind car having done 26k since 'new' and previous lady owner driving 4-5k miles a year).

I also found myslef having to research and read how the engine is able to manage (as mentioned in earlier post) and cope with lower speeds in 4th and 5th gear when revs between 1500 and 2000 rpm, again especially when even climbing. Found myself wanting to revert to 'old' style of driving as no way that previous cars would have coped with 30mph, in 5th gear going uphill, yet this beauty seems to manage effortlessly as no 'load' can be heard coming from the engine, which was all too audible from previous cars. Have other owners found themselves having to 're-learn' how to drive and use the i vtec/vtec engines in their respective honda cars?

Am interested in any tips and hints on this point and how to get the best without putting engine under too much strain and for mpg reasons.

Only matter that dampened spirits was the weather as unable to finish off using cutting paste over rest of car (roof and doors) as only had time shortly after purchase to deal with bonnet and boot, or those other little bits that I am sure many of us do when we have taken recent ownership of new (used) vehicle.

I am sure there will be a couple of other answers I will be asking in not too distant future but look forward to any further comments/replies on those raised in this post.

As ever, many thanks, and let's hope this continues.
