srs airbag fault code 12-1

Hi, new to this process. Have a Jazz showing passenger side airbag fault (code 12-1).

Have plugged in another air bag, cleared code and fault returns. Tried same with seatbelt sensor and pre tensioner and code remains after reset.

If I unplug either of these items it shows up as a different fault but if I unplug the passenger seat airbag the fault still shows but it also displays the drivers side airbag as disconnected.

If I return everything to normal and unplug the drivers side airbag the system doesn't react except to keep displaying the original passenger side fault. Starting to suspect wirring or SRS unit.

Anyone seen this before??

Just wondered if you have managed to resolve this.
I have just had my SRS unit declared failed and need a new one at a cost of >£600, so your problem is of some interest to me.
