headlight lens

hi all, my headlight lens are getting very dull,almost a mot failure, how easy are these to change, my other half is an aircraft engineer so is pretty handy on the tools ,so is this a reasonably easy job and can you buy just the lens or do you have to buy the whole unit .

As an ex aircraft engineer myself I know that there is a process called Micromesh used for polishing out scratches and other marks in aircraft canopies and windscreens which your partner may be aware of.

It is probably available from aviation supply businesses.

You can see this done on Youtube just type 'headlight restoration' into the search box. I've never had to do this on any of my previous cars (not Jazzes).

thanks for the replies,my other half can get hold of the polishes required but he says that the lens look beyond this type of repair as the dullness in the lens looks really far gone so am looking to replace them. have found some on e-bay just wondering if anyone on here has attempted the lens reploacement ??

try Fenwicks caravan window cleaner from Halfords for about a fiver,  be sure to apply with a cotton cloth as per instructions (old handkerchief or similar) all the fancy microfibre and stuff doesn't work as well (I learned that the hard way, as it didn't seem to be working until I read instructions properly and used cotton)
