CVT judder -- going - going - gone?!
« on: September 03, 2013, 05:33:39 PM »
Hi All,

Just bought an 06 Jazz SE Sport CVT 41000 miles - a week ago.  The Honda dealer serviced the vehicle before handover and I assume has changed the gearbox oil.

The seemingly common judder appeared immediately.  As the week has drawn on the judder has got less and less; to be now almost imperceptible.

From the service records the oil had not been changed before.  From this forum's posts the oil looks to be the 'colour' of CVT F oil.

Is it feasible that the oil needed a change to cure the problem and slowly the drive train has become cleaner and so works better?

I have yet to return to the garage to discuss this.

Any ideas?

TIA    :)

Changing the auto box fluid is the first thing a Honda dealer would do to try to eradicate the problem.
