DrShockr, glad to hear you are OK and sorry to hear about your Jazz.

Your insurer may contact the BMW's insurer - probably using an accident management company - and get them to admit liability. That way you won't have to pay your excess and they will provide you with a like for like hire car, at least until the car is declared a write off .

I can't see the BMW's insurer paying out if the owner allowed an unlicensed driver behind the wheel.

Back on the road in a 2006 'Vivid blue pearl' CVT Jazz 

Bought this Saturday for £3300.

Got a call from insurance today, offering £3000 for my previous Jazz, managed to bump that up to £3250 by mentioning parking sensors and new tyres 

Neck pain has not gone down though, cannot seem to get through the day without regimented paracetamol intake
