Jazz sport K&N induction kit
« on: February 21, 2013, 06:01:53 AM »
Hi all,
can anyone help with an image or parts list for the K&N induction kit for the Jazz sport 2007-2008? P/N is 58-0675. the image I've got is as below and want to check it's right:

If that is right then presumably it is possible to concoct your own using the commercially available silicone bends and K&N filters available on Ebay? I'm just curious if there is a support or whether any sensors need to be relocated.

help appreciated.
P.S. Would you consider putting a "modifications and enhancements" category in the main page?

I would try a look on www.fitfreak.net  this US site is full of modified Jazz Fits & has several UK owners

Yup, had a look there but got nothing. Perhaps I'll ask. Just most on fitfreak have the 1.5 v-tec.

Would this K&N kit work better than a K&N replacement air filter?  The filter sold by K&N is a drop in replacement for 2011 onwards Jazz VTEC and hybrid engines and is a metal foil and oil affair.  Quite expensive at R 450 (£35) but you can clean it in diesel oil.

Thanks guys but I'm looking for the induction noise which a panel doesn't give. I just don't think the k&n is worth the money they're asking for it so intend to fabricate my own system.

Unless you've got a vtec engine your wasting money on a k&n filter on an i-DSI engine. Your not really gonna get the performance gains if any.

Also whats the point of induction noise, I would rather have more go than more noise.

Thanks JazzyB. Try understanding the post before commenting.
I said i wanted induction noise. The point is just to make the engine sound more 'meaty'. Let's face it, the jazz will never be a powerhouse , but all I'm asking for is a little help in establishing if Teresa are any components in the k&n kit which may be beyond my abilities to manufacture.

What i don't need is you telling me I'm wasting my time because in saying that, you are simply pointing out that you either didn't understand or didn't read my post.

In the vast majority of 8v cars you will hear an increase in induction roar when fitting a cone filter. That's my aim and my reason for it (which is superfluous information anyway) is because i want to.

I think this is why many forums will have a separate forum for modifying the vehicles in question as it prevents off topic discussions from other members who have less understanding or wish to involve themselves in that sort of area of car ownership.

That looks cool powerpig.
Been thinking of fabricating an alloy or stainless intake mount to suit any k&n or pipercross i can pick up.

The aiirbox seems to have a few extra channels coming off it - not sure what they are supposed to assist with. Guess I'll find out when i remove them!

I've put together my own filter set up and include a how-to.
