Floor mat fitting 2012 Jazz
« on: October 08, 2012, 01:51:16 PM »
I have just taken delivery of a 2012 Jazz 1.4 EX and would like to fit floor mats. Most of the ones on the market have fixing holes in the driver's mat but my car has no apparent fixing points to match the holes. How do I stop the driver's mat moving :( in use? What am I missing?

When I bought my genuine mats from Honda (52 reg) I got the hook in the package.

Thanks for your reply but my problem is that there are no visible fixing points on the car to"hook" on to. Unless they are under the existing floor covering.

If I could work out how to send a "thank you" I would. Looking forward to your picture.

Hi
I have a 2011 EX CVT, now 18 months old and have had the mats fitted from new, without using the supplied clips, as I didn't want to cut the carpets.
I find that the design is such that they don't move about under your feet anyway and certainly don't present any hazard to driving.
There is also the advantage that they can easily be lifted out for cleaning.

Regards to all.

Aha! So to use the clips you would have to cut the carpet? That is what I suspected. Does it mean that there are some recesses below the carpet for the clips to fit into?

Thanks for that clue.

Cheers

I went an office supplies place that supply carpet tiles for offices.  The largest charcoal one was quite cheap and I made a template from cardboard and cut the carpet to fit.  Does not move about at all and easy to remove and clean, before I vacuum the interior.  Cost was less than 1/2 what Honda dealer wanted
