Thrust Bearing

Hi All,

Apparantly my thrust bearing is going in my gear box. 2004 Sport.

Has anyone else had this happen?  If so have you had it replaced and at what cost?

I had replaced mine (changed the clutch too as a whole set - ~£120 from Eurocarparts - ) but ended up changing the input shaft bearings because that was noisy not the thrust bearing. (The clutch disk had around 10000 miles left in so I changed a bit earlier - not a big deal).
After I changed the input shaft bearings (bought from Honda ~£50) I heard the nearside rear bearing was noisy too so I had to change that one (~£120).

Now I know my car should be good for the next years (touch wood).

wow, have you used engine crane? any specific tools to remove/install bearing? I remember reading that one is needed to centre flywheel.

I do have noisy input shaft bearing, but it's not that bad and could wait till clutch is out, hopefully not soon, it has only 70k, so I'm readying myself mentally
