I can understand it can be annoying when a post  diverts onto  different topics , especially if original one ceases to be  fully explored and discussed. Especially for the person who started the topic. Also the  evolved  topic may not   feature  on a site  subject search .

But I'd have though a post highlighting a new review on the Jazz , invites general discussion and comments about the scope and accuracy of the review  and comparisons with other cars, past experiences and future trends.  Or must we start a new topic  for every aspect raised, as a series of short sound bites?

Maybe a limit of 280 characters?  That would  stuff me !  :-[ >:( :P

I've yet to visit a forum where posts don't drift off

Just one of those things

As I drive around though I'm quite happy in my little comfy quiet cabin with a very easy and satisfying car to drive

Just goes to show that motoring journos should actually drive a car before writing about it just using manufacturer specs

I can remember one article about the then new 9G Civic in 2012 where the writer had clearly used specs from the 8G Civic, it was laugh a line reading it as everything was wrong
Let's be careful out there !

As far as the review goes, he does not strike me as much of a knowledgeable reviewer. The Jazz was consistently best car in class in Which and What Car etc. etc. not to have investigated after that and coming as a revelation now doesn't impress me, fine for the man in the street but not for a so called top newspaper motoring editor.  :P

Its a brief and not very knowledgeable review.  But its basic message ,from someone who has apparently  reviewed many cars  is  " I  love it" .    More sincere than the typical car review, plagiarised  from many other reviews, often referring to older models, and concentrating on aspects that mean little to most  owners who live in the  real world. .

Sure there is plenty of stuff that hasnt been mentioned, hence the wide ranging discussion  on this thread

I did read about the 7 year MG warrantry and many things are either time or mileage limited - example shock absorbers 36k miles and lots of other items have less tban 7 years cover . So be mindful to study the small print as it may not be as it appears !

After reading the Polish MG warranty conditions line by line, it seems that MG UK uses different warranty conditions than MG Poland.
The example of limited warranty of the shock absorbers maximum 36k miles is not to be found.
I think that limitation has to do with all those potholes in the British roads.... ;D

What I found is this:
Infotainment and driver assistance systems are covered by the warranty
36 months or 72,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).
If nothing goes right, go left!

I think the longer a warranty the more likely it is they will claim things are due to 'fair wear and tear' and not covered.  .

But infotainment and  driver assistance systems  limited to 3 years?   This complex high tech stuff are the very things I want covered by warranty for as long as possible. I kept my 2007 Yaris for 14 years  as I accepted  if basic mechanicals failed i would cover the risk myself.  But  will now probably change cars more frequently and stay within warranty as far as possible  now that cars are inevitably so much more complex. Funds permitting.  You cant take it with you.
