Missing Body Plugs and Strakes
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:45:03 PM »
Well, this is not good.
I bought a brand new Jazz last July and one of the side lights wasn't working. I now find that there are no body plugs in front of the wheels (item 26 of PDI procedure to reduce road noise):

I will have to check it out with Honda UK or the dealer to see if body plugs are fitted to the Jazz or just the Fit. There's a thread about this over at fitfreak.net - not all Fit owners there have found these plugs were fitted. I thought I'd post here to see if anybody knows should these plugs be fitted to the UK spec model or if anybody in the UK has a Jazz with plugs fitted as the dealer didn't give me a copy of the PDI schedule.

I knew I should have asked for the PDI from the dealer when I took delivery,  :-[ . This makes me think no PDI was carried out.  >:(

Edit: I have also noticed that the strakes, item 22 of the Fit PDI, (improves fuel economy and assists stability when vehicle is aquaplaning) on each side are missing. I rang the dealer's service department and he didn't know what I was talking about, so I will be visiting them. I have emailed Honda UK, no reply so far. I found two of the plugs in the glovebox.

I've finally got around to check my Jazz for body plugs and strakes. I'm happy to see the strakes are fitted but the four body plugs are missing. Unfortunately I don't have a legible copy of my PDI checklist (terrible photocopy) so I can't check to see if these items are listed. Perhaps someone reading this thread may have a copy of a UK spec Jazz GE PDI schedule?

I called into the dealer and spoke to a chap in the parts department. He didn't seem very interested in my query and just asked me to speak to the dealer who sold me the car. He did say that he was aware that the Fit is 'different' from the Jazz and that UK Civics have strakes fitted. As it was early on a Saturday morning, I couldn't even find one dealer, let alone the dealer who sold me the car. Count me in as interested in seeing a PDI schedule for a Jazz, thanks

I have a Jan 2009 Jazz 1.4 EX I-Shift and have checked the completed PDI SHEET.
There was no reference to the Body Plugs or Strakes.
I have scanned this as a PDF Doc but unable to post as the file size is too big.

Strange one, my PDI sheet is so old that it still mentions the NSX and S2000, but it has no mention anywhere of body plugs, items 22 to 26 are for air con and sat nav.
