I found the same so I don't use it. I find the LIM function suits my journey better when I'm in an average speed zone. I used to use CC to keep me at 50mph on my Civic so I tried the same trick with ACC but it kept unexpectedly braking, unacceptably sharply at times.

There are plenty of owners who like ACC because their journeys and requirements are different.
Let's be careful out there !

Yes the AAC is OK when the traffic is very fluent otherwise it is as you say. It sharply brakes too far from the vehicule in front, which is dangerous because it cannot be predicted by the driver behind us
Jazz 4 (Very happy except for the ACC)

You are able to change the detection distance.

Yep, I had mine on the minimum one bar but just as frenchguy is finding it's still looking too far ahead.

After many decades of driving and a IAM I know just when to pull out from a leading vehicle to overtake. Not too soon and certainly not too late. A gentle drift out before the 2 second rule. However, the ACC knew better and unless I pulled out 'too soon' then it auto braked.

Then because the ACC had the overtaking speed in memory, as soon as I was fully in the overtaking lane it 'gave it some' to get me back to the set speed.

Just my experience though and as posted ACC is perfect for others.

What I wonder is whether different vehicles have been calibrated differently ? I know if you need a new windscreen, the systems controlled by the gubbins behind the rearview mirror need re-calibrating.

I was also wondering about a possible difference in calibration
The problem is that I don't see any Youtube videos of AAC testing (with our Jazz) to see if I find the same abrupt behavior of mine

(Yes my safety distance is set at the minimum)
