Identified a water retention and release problem for Jazz owners - not he reputed one of old age!

Had to have boot opened for some time just outside garage door whilst loading in reasonably heavy rain.

On completion when shutting the rear door experience a brief but significant deluge of water that had been retained in the number plate area, giving a splash from the bumper onto legs/feet.

A first for this having had 4 previous Jazz cars.

Useful to know you may occasionally  need to stand out of range.  >:(  Or get someone else to do it  ;D

Inherent in the styling I think. Which also allows space for reversing camera, etc. Beyond radical restyling it could only be solved by drain holes or rubber drain pipes feeding water into  the box cavities of the boot lid.  With risk of clogging and internal  rusting etc.  At least you know that currently its watertight .

One slight annoyance I find is how easily water drips from the roof sides onto seats when the door is opened. On my dark upholstery it shows up as a dark stain, although it disappears as it dries.    But the first time I saw it I thought I had stained the seat somehow and needed to ,erm, pacify my wife  :-*

Drainpipe trousers usually do the trick.  Or if you have water on the brain, a tap on the head will help.

The tailgate on my Civic is made from plastic, but the newer Jazz mk2 my wife has is still steel,  has the MK4 tailgate been changed to plastic ( try it with a magnet ).....
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

The tailgate is mostly steel.  The panel above the  number plate ,incorporating the Honda badge, is plastic
