Rear speakers not working?
« on: September 29, 2017, 06:08:16 PM »
Hi people :). Well I recently purchased a 2012 Jazz from an elderly gent and I did not check if the rear speakers were functioning correctly. {my bad} :(. I hear from a few people that they might be just dis-connected? Does anyone know were I could check this connection on the car? Or if any other opinions on the issue are known?  Regards Jim.

Welcome, Jim. I have a 2006 Jazz S and like you, I thought my rear speakers were not working either. Turns out the 2006 S doesn't have rear speakers, just grills on the doors! Apparently, it doesn't even have the wiring in place.

That is what happened to me. I thought I'd use the fader, to get the sound set up, and there was nothing there. I looked up the spec sheet for my model and year and that is when I found the cheapskates at Honda hadn't fitted the necessary hardware. Take it you have an S?

Hi JimHopper
I have a 2013 1.2s as well, no rear speakers and is a shame as you lose the depth of sound I was used to.
Especially as I'm into metal.
We get what we pay for I suppose but otherwise I can't fault my Jazz, been a good workhorse just coming up to 70,000 miles. Have the new plugs ready, just building up the nerve to change them. There are 3 Jazzes in the family. My grand son did ask lask week (he's 10) why it's called a Jazz as it's not Jazzy! I told him Jazz at my age is gets me there every time without worry and that's Jazzy to me.  :D

I very quickly got used to the sound in my Jazz. Didn't think I would. after the multi speaker system in my Volvo, but now I am more than happy with the sound I get.

I was thinking about seeing how much a set in the back might cost to be fitted.

I was going to do the same, until I was told the wiring is not in the harness. Fitting speakers would be a dawdle but the wiring would be a real pain.

Aaaaah, a fellow metal loving Jazz driver! :D
Did anyone ever ask you why you bought a Jazz, since it's not your music style of choice?
Everybody keeps bothering me with that...
