Vibration noise when accelerating 2006 Jazz 1.4 CVT
« on: July 25, 2015, 10:09:10 PM »
Hi all,
I have been a Jazz owner for many years so fully appreciate the EGR valve and gearbox flush fix for jerking on take off.
Recently, I have noticed an odd issue which I hope you can all help.
When I accelerate harshly, the car makes a hollow plastic clicking/grinding noise. It's only there for a split second but can continue if I boot it through the rev range from take off.
It's not a jerk sensation but more of a strange noise as mentioned above this is noticeable.
I have had the gearbox oil flushed in Jan this year by main agent and the car has had new plug Nov last year.
It's a well maintained car, but the recent escapade mentioned above is making me slightly worried.
At first I assumed CV issue or gearbox mount, but I am unsure!!!
Please assist.
Thanks,
S (from Essex/E.London border)

Just to close this one off to say that it was a gearbox topmount that went.  Dealer diagnosed and fixed.
