Stick with premium make tyres -  the only part of your car be it an Impreza WRX or 1.2 Jazz in contact with the road.
The quality of UK roads is becoming worse and worse

I agree. For the price of a tank of fuel, don't compromise on what you'll have to live with for ages.

Having said that, we don't want to pay just for the name, and some "medium" tyres are as good as the premiums. Check out the tyre review sites if you can stand it; these sites do however generally point to the premium brands being the best. And if you buy them online (which can be a right faff I know) you can get them with good discounts.

Most hondas (civic ,jazz etc) got a low floor construction
that why whatever brand or type of tyre fitted will mostly give a kind of noise under floor, its a fact isnt no one can deny.
If any body got problem with over steering or understeering problems the cause cant be contributed to the tyre brand or quality.  Most of these problems are related to the wheel alignment (basically four wheel). Four wheel alignment is really important and not elective service for mototring nowadays.
Try to correct wheel alignment and you would feel the difference....alignyourcar...
