CVT Lifespan

Hi There,
sorry if this is covered elsewhere. I've just bought an '07 Jazz and my father is quite taken with it. He's looking at getting one for himself; a 2005 1.4 SE CVT with 26k miles.
My question is, thre seems to be some doubt about the longevity of the CVT 'box. Someone said 60k miles is as much as you can expect. That doesn't seem very good value to me and not very "Honda".
Are there any Jazz owners out there with higher mileage CVT cars who can comment on how much life to expect from the CVT box?
My dad is choosing a Jazz primarily because he wants a reliable/cheap car. If the auto box is suspect then we will go for a manual car, although an auto would really suit him better.
Any thoughts or experiences? We need to make a decision by Friday

We have had our 2004 SECVT from new and have covered 71,000 miles, the gearbox did develop the judder at 65,000 but was fixed FOC under warranty, the car has been driven by both myself and Mrs Valleyjazz over the years and our journeys range from a 160 mile,70mph motorway cruise to popping to the shops, to date we have changed the pads twice,2 sets of tyres, front discs once, 2 new rear bearings (again foc) and had the car serviced by both Honda and independents, and apart from a couple of bulbs and wiper blades no other problems. (perhaps tempting fate here)

We've taken the plunge. Just bought an '05 1.4 SE CVT 7 with 26k miles today with my dad. Cost £4,800 with a year's Honda warranty from a franchised dealer.
Seems very clean and nice. Finger crossed.
Interestingly they tried hard to sell us a crazy insurance policy where you insure any decrease in value of your car resulting from a future write off or theft. Cost was £350. We declined.
Also tried to sell us some kind of "protection system" that keeps the car and upholstery clean. Cost was £199. Again, no thanks.
Must be a way of trying to fatten their margins.

£350 is too much for that insurance policy ('GAP' cover) - try shopping online for much cheaper quotes.
