Firstly our impressions of the MK 4 as passengers only ( we didn't drive the car ) - a marginal improvement only, thought the finish throughout was better. Apparently it’ll do 70 mpg, well I’m content with the 50 mpg we get from the Mk3, we only do 4,000 miles p.a.
If your driving conditions get 50mpg with a Mk 3 then you'll struggle to average 70mpg with the Mk 4. I averaged 57mpg in a Mk 3 and am currently at 69mpg in my Crosstar so just over 21% better mpg. More summer miles might get this up to a 25% increase. 50 to 70mpg is a 40% improvement which is unlikely but not impossible if the driving is primarily urban.

Just ordered a EX with Premium pack for delivery March 22. I did extensive research about my 15 plate Mazda 2, even paid for a valuation on Parkers, and went in with a determination to achieve as near to £8K as possible. Usual tricks were attempted but when I presented a Honda main website valuation of £7700 we shook on £7800. If you register as a consumer on Honda's website they will value your car instantly..and it was the most generous valuation of any manufacturer website. My Mazda sold 10 days later in a Mazda main dealership  with a sticker valuation of £9995. Stick to your guns and find a dealer that isnt in a big group (bought in Llandudno..live on The Wirral)..the small guys still value your business

Agree. I walked out of a Citroen dealer once after politely telling them they were well off the changeover mark and she chased after me with a £1500 better p/x offer.

That was on a new R plate Xantia 2.0 EX from a M plate Xantia 1.8 SX, back in about 1997/8 so £1,500 was a good percentage.
Let's be careful out there !

Sounds like you got a good deal. And March delivery? That is amazing in the current climate of semiconductor shortages and long delivery times.

I ordered a grey Jazz EX early in January, at the time of ordering I was told it would be an early March delivery. Since then I have been told delivery could be April 25th, however at the start of this week I was told it could be here at the beginning of April......

We changed from a Mazda 2 to the Jazz Mk4.  Our petrol consumption has reduced from 8.8 l/ 100km (32mpg) in the Mazda 2 (95% of driving was urban) to 4.3 l/100 km (65mpg). So you can expect something similar
