Title: Misfires in all 4 cylinders
Post by: andrew230 on November 23, 2020, 07:42:55 AM
Hi guys

I have Honda jazz 2006 vti-s automatic, GD3, Thai import into Australia, 4 cylinders, 1.5L

When I drive in D it drives fine until 2000 rpm, then it starts jerking ( especially if I push onto accelerator slightly more) and the engine check comes up with 4 cylinders misfiring ( 301, 302... Etc.)

When I push slightly on accelerator it drives fine, or if  I use L gear, it drives fine on higher revs.

I accelerated while on parking break and it's fine, nothing unusual.

Btw when i accelerate during driving I have this kind of resistance..

Could it be CVT transmission problem? But then why do I get all 4 misfires?

UPDATE: Sometimes I also get code P1351.

If possible pls help 🙏🙏

How are the spark plugs? There are 8 of them and the back row are often overlooked by those who don't know that DSI means Dual Spark Ignition.

I doubt that it is a CVT problem.

Thanks John. I firgot to mention it is not Dsi, it is iVtec technology. Basically only 4 spark plugs

The i-VTEC didn't come out until the GE 2nd generation was introduced in 2008 (Oct 2007 Tokyo Motor Show) so either you have your date, and Mk wrong or you have an i-DSi engine with 8 spark plugs.

Or are you in OZ or Japan or with a Japanese import?

Hi Jocko, you are right it actually says VTEC, GD 3, and it's Thai import into Australia

I had a similar thing with a 3.0 Ford Capri, there was a break in the HT leads and as the car accelerated the HT leads arced, but it was fine on tickover and low speeds.

Ahh those were the days !
