Title: Headlamp bulbs
Post by: chrisv on December 29, 2016, 02:08:02 PM
Hi,
Just ordered some osram bulbs, can anyone tell me what is involved in fitting them, it seems you can get to the back of the lights from under the bonnet, is there a clip under the rubber as you can't actually see what you are doing,
Chris

Long thread here about headlamp bulb upgrade, if you look at page three of the thread there are instructions and a post by Mr Onion with a picture.

It is an easy job, at least for me - an untechnical woman. ;D

@Hobo, that was an enlightening topic last year. ;) I just looked back and saw i changed the bulbs in not more than 5 minutes.

Hi,
Thanks guys, bulbs changed in about 10 minutes, all done by feel, no way I could get a mirror in but a lot better than the mark 1😢 never did manage it on that,
Chris

After struggling with the MK1 headlights and sidelights the MK2 is easy-peasy  - the MK2 sidelight bulbs can be a bit tricky,  they come out easy enough with a 1/4 turn,  but getting them back can be very tricky - pays to mark the top of holder with permanent pen (or at least mark the side that is on top when you have twisted it so that you know that should be on top when you feed it back in).
