Hi all. My rear interior light (one on roof above back seat) stopped working sometime ago. Today, whilst in Halfords I decided to get a new bulb for it. Exchanged the bulb, and, hey, STILL not working. :( What is next for me to try, or has it now become 'messy'?

Could try spraying white grease on the contact switches on the front door jams that turn the light on and off.

I'm using the on/off switch on the actual light. Nothing happens?
-
Does it come on when you open the drivers door?

the switch on the light normally has 3 positions
off altogether (will not light up when doors open) far left position (from memory)
comes on and goes of with door switches (centre position)
on all the time (far right position I think)

Hi guys, no, nothing at all, in any position, with doors open or closed. Despite me changing the bulb!
-
Possibly a faulty new bulb - I have had that before. Try substituting the bulb out of the front lamp and see if that works.

I have a similar problem.
I light won't work when i switch to "on", but it will come up when i open the door.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

So, seems that banging on the ceiling around the light, helps it back on ..for a while. Still intermittent. ???

I'd be inclined to clean the bulb socket contacts first and if that doesn't cure it remove the light unit and check the spade contacts that supply the volts. Not sure how easy it is to remove though? A squirt of switch cleaner in the switches wouldn't hurt.
