Title: fog lights switch

Recently I tried to switch the fog lamps on.  (I already had the headlights on.)  However, the switch seemed to be spring loaded and would not stay on.

What was I doing wrongly?

Front or rear ?
The switch rotates forward for front fogs and rearwards for rear fogs.
For both fogs I think it rotates backwards a second time but I am not sure.

I was turning it backwards.  I did not realise that I had front fog lamps.  I thought I had rear foglamps only.  (The hand book is not very helpful in these matters, as it keeps saying "On some models......")

Not really difficult find out you only need to look at the front of the car and they are either there or not.  :-\ ;D

What do they look like?  Fog lamps don't look yellow, like they did in the 1960s.

Have you got them on your ES Plus?

The switch is spring loaded, "Its down for on, and down for off, down for on and down for off".

If your Jazz ES Plus is UK model then it wont have fr fogs unless fitted as accessory.
Fitting is possible but not a 5 min task.

I wonder why it is made that way.

I think it's spring-loaded so that each time you use the switch it sends a signal to the computer to change the fog light setting (on-off-on-off ...) but you can't leave the switch in the on position. The setting is reset when you turn off the ignition and you have to manually turn the lights on each time you start the car. This reduces the risk of unintentionally leaving the fog lights on.
