I have just noticed a small hole that has worn through on the drivers seat on the side bolster of the seat back.
I was wondering if Honda sell the seat back covering, so phoned my local dealer, who tell me that the seat back comes as one piece at £540 (+vat I think, I lost interest at that point).
So as thats a non-starter, I have decided to order a set of seat covers and hide the damage.
Has anyone used a car upholsterers, or trimmers to repair such damage?? Any idea of costs??
Thanks

That seat must have clocked up a lot of hours!
How about a complete driver's seat from a scrapyard (assuming that someone has written off a Mk 2 Jazz)?
-
I am thinking it won't match the other seats, but might be worth a try.
At the moment the hole is only about the size of a 1p coin, so hoping to minimise the damage. I am sure there was no sign of any damage before Christmas, but it must have been wearing thin.

Does this car still have the side airbag in the seat, or does it drop from the roof?
That's my only concern with using covers on mine, so they only go on if I know I'm going to be dirty.

The seat covers I have ordered have allowed for side airbags, with a special area that splits easily should the side airbags be deployed, they are also model specific.

Excellent covers.

A few around, but mostly in specialist recyclers. How about a Mk3 with 218 miles? (Airbags not deployed)

Seat covers have arrived and quickly repacked and returned to suppliers as they are so thin, thinner than a t-shirt, so they won't last long.
On to Plan B and await a reply from breakers regarding a replacement seat.

Just found this http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel2a.php?emulate=seatcover&query=7664&vptype= (http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel2a.php?emulate=seatcover&query=7664&vptype=)
Seat covers and cushions in fabric, leather. sheepskin.
I don't know if any would be suitable for you, have a look and see.
I want to see 200,000 miles on your car !

Thanks Bill, Roofbox Co is where I ordered the seat covers from, I ordered the zipp-it ones, but they are so thin, so I sent them back.
I have now found that Chips Away offer interior trim repars, so I have asked for a quote.
I want to get my car to over 200k too . . . . . at 183,500 now :) We're getting there !

If the reip is tiny, I would cut a slightlyu larger piece out of the existing seat material where it wont show - under the seat. Then piece the repair under the rip/hole and either glue or better stitch in.
A bigger job for repairs on older cars used to be swop over the cover passenger to driver

So on Friday I fill in the online Chips Away form and I get an automated email back saying their local guy will contact me on the next working day, apparently Saturday or Monday aren't working days as no-one has contacted me. I have phoned the local operative and left a voicemail message, but no-one has called me back, so I am losing faith with them.
Hybridjazz sent me a link to a breakersyard that has a Jazz with a similar interior, I have emailed them and they have said they want £90 for the drivers seat, so I am going for that option now, and then I will mount the old seat on a frame for use in my garage :D

a Jazz with a similar interior ... £90 for the drivers seat
Looked at a rolled Mk2 today, but inside seemed like it's had a couple of months of rain in the broken windows, so no joy re: seat as all covers very stained. Shame, because a seat was £15, but if £90 is delivered then you've got a good deal, and I guess your originals have had quite a high loading (kg x hours) so will probably be a bit firmer a well.

£90 to collect from the breakers, but they did remove it, and its from a 2013 model, however it doesn't have an armrest, I am not sure if my one will be able to be swapped over, I will have to measure the existing seat to see exactly where the bracket goes. I am not that bothered if it doesn't swap over though, as I don't use the armrest.
The seat is is very good condition though, I just need to get around to fitting it now ;)
-
hi oz just a thought could you swap the covers over to your seat so you would retain the armrest if the replacement doesn't have one.firstly take your old seat apart to see what the job entails
alot of seat covers are held in place with hog rings they are a "c" shaped clips that clip through the material then the 2 ends are pressed together to make a ring

Cheers, I will have a look. I did ask Honda for a new cover, but they said they can sell a new back, but not a new cover.
Whilst I was with my daughter buying her Jazz yesterday, between the Sales lass going back to Mr Sales Manager and looking for ages at a computer screen, I had a word with the Service Manager and asked him if his guys would fit it for me, he said he could, it would be £100. I did suggest maybe one of his guys would want to do it on their lunchbreak for a drink. He smiled, but didn't say "No".

If you need an arm rest I have the original off mine as I fitted a centre console

Thanks but I still have the old seat that has an armrest on it, its currently my garage seat whilst tinkering around in "the dog house". Cheers
