Title: I-DSI 1.2 engine on MK I Jazz: which is which (cylinders)

I need to identify cylinder n. 2 in my engine (see title).
Do I need to count from the left or from the right (facing the engine)?

number 1 cylinder is nearest the alternator end of engine,  so left to right while looking at front of car is correct.
