My Jazz, a January 2010 model, has developed a very stiff steering problem. It appears to be ambient temperature related ie when the weather is cold it is a lot stiffer than when the weather is warm.
Has anybody else had this problem?

Steering assist is electric, so when it is cold do you have more electrical drain on the system? Are your tyres inflated to the correct pressures?

Seems to be a common issue.

My car has been off the road now for three weeks while the steering column is being refurbished. I get the impression that it is more common to the Mark 1, possibly because these cars will have done more miles. My Mark 2 (January 2010) has done 62k.
