Title: windscreen pitting/chipping

i just picked up another pit mark today to add to my collection of 4

i was wondering how many pit/chip marks people have on there windscreens

Check your insurance details to see if "...your motor insurance covers glass damage..."

i dont think it has come to that, that would cause more damage than fix if they cut and scratch the metal around the windscreen and at they are not cracked i would only change a windscreen for an mot failure

Autoglass are probably the insurers windscreen repairers of choice.

I have used  them two or three times for chip damage, which until recently was free under most insurance policies, and they were very good. Once done the chip was virtually invisible.

As Dave says, remember that some chips can be a MoT failure.

If they are in your line of sight then it will fail the MOT, have a look at your insurance certificate if there is a W in the top right hand corner then you are covered, a new screen will have an excess charge £70? ish but chips are fixed for free, on most policies and as stated they are near invisible, and will prevent a crack appearing come the winter.
