Title: Possible rear wheel bearing problem?
Post by: guest4811 on June 20, 2014, 08:39:01 PM
I recently acquired a 2006 Jazz 1.4 fitted with rear disc brakes. There is a strange noise which appears to be coming from the N/S rear hub mainly evident when travelling at low speeds. I know that Jazz's are prone to rear wheel bearing problems, so is this a bearing problem?

With the N/S rear wheel jacked up and rotated back and for there is a knocking noise (bit similar to the noise problem when the car is moving). Also checked the O/S rear and there is also a slight knocking noise, not as bad as the O/S. Video clip of knocking noise http://youtu.be/GiaNPVRKZGE (http://youtu.be/GiaNPVRKZGE)

If that's bearing then ther are totally shot. check for play. To me it souunds like the disc rubbing on pads or brakes anyway. :)

It was the pads causing the knocking noise.  They were partially seized, cleaned them up and lubricated all of the slider guides, noise gone  :)
