Ok so I was looking to give my EK3 some upgrades to make it a bit nicer to drive longer distances. But then I discovered that the Jazz 1.4 i-DSI might not be that much worse on fuel than the EK3. Only thing is that it will have 32hp less than my EK3. So I want to be sure about fuel economy. Especially highway fuel consumption. In my EK3 I can get up to 56mpg (UK) on a flat road and good conditions, it's always 50 mpg (UK) or higher if driving around 75mph.
So is there anyone that can make a direct comparison between the EK3 and Jazz 1.4 i-DSI? Any other remarks?

I can't make the comparison but would be interested.
My ishift can do similar mpg as yours on my long runs.

So with a 1.4 VTEC CVT you get around 53-56mpg on long runs, flat highway @ 75mph?
-
My car is the i SHIFT in my sig. My long runs are on country roads at around 55mph.
My interest is if the old engine can get anywhere near the V TEC on economy at those speeds.
I use the word speed loosely :D

I get 53mpg @ 70-75mph

I had a 1.5 lsi Civic Coupe. auto.
What I have to say is that space wise the Jazz wins easy and more headroom.
That is impressive Moob. Is that accurate brim to brim filling and calculating?

I used to drive and ek3 and even an ek4 and now am driving a gd3.. If you're looking for economy, I would say th. Dit is a between choice.. Plus the knock down seats are a big big plus..

I have a 1.4 es manual Jazz. I haven't done any 'brim to brim' measurements as I can't be bothered as the computer on the car does it for me. On longish journeys -up to 120 miles- 70mph on motorways the computer shows 55-57 mpg . I have had the car for 18 months from new, only done 7200 miles, at an average -all my driving- of 52.7, again as indicated on computer.
Good enough for me, and computer says 'Yes'. !
